กลุ่มวิจัยโรคทางคาร์ดิโอเมตาบอลิก เป็นกลุ่มวิจัยที่ก่อตั้งขึ้นในปี2556 เพื่อดำเนินงานวิจัยทางคลินิก และงานวิจัยด้านระบาดวิทยาเกี่ยวกับการรักษา และป้องกันโรคทางคาร์ดิโอเมตาบอลิก ไม่ว่าจะเป็นโรคเบาหวาน หัวใจและหลอดเลือด และภาวะอ้วนและน้ำหนักเกินโดยเป็นการทำงานร่วมกันของแพทย์ผู้เชี่ยวชาญในสาขาที่เกี่ยวข้อง และนักระบาดวิทยา นอกจากบทบาทในการดำเนินงานวิจัย ทางกลุ่มวิจัยยังมีภารกิจหลักในการให้คำปรึกษาด้านวิจัย และให้การสนับสนุนให้แพทย์ และเจ้าหน้าที่สาธารณสุขสามารถทำวิจัยได้อย่างเป็นรูปธรรม และมีคุณภาพ นอกจากนี้ กลุ่มวิจัยร่วมกับศูนย์แพทยศาสตร์ศึกษาชั้นคลินิก โรงพยาบาลสรรพสิทธิประสงค์ ยังมีการจัดอบรมด้านการวิจัยพื้นฐานให้กับแพทย์ และผู้สนใจตลอดปี ดังรายละเอียดในเวปไซต์ http://www.sunpasit.go.th/mecu/index.php/2014-08-05-01-57-17

      กลุ่มวิจัยมีความเชี่ยวชาญในการวิจัยทางระบาดวิทยา และงานวิจัยทางคลินิกที่เน้นไปที่การรักษา และป้องกันการเกิดโรคทางคาร์ดิโอเมตาบอลิก โดยมีโครงการที่ดำเนินการในอดีต และปัจจุบัน ดังนี้

 

1. การศึกษาผลของภาวะอ้วน และน้ำหนักเกินต่อการเกิดโรคทางเมตาบอลิกในกลุ่มผู้ใหญ่ คนไทยใน

จังหวัดอุบลราชธานี ในระยะเวลา 5 ปี (สำนักงานคณะกรรมการวิจัยแห่งชาติ)

 

2. การศึกษาความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างภาวะอ้วน  และน้ำหนักเกินกับการเสียชีวิตโดยรวม และการเสียชีวิตรายโรคในกลุ่มผู้ใหญ่คนไทยในจังหวัดอุบลราชธานี : ข้อมูลจากการตรวจสุขภาพประจำปี และข้อมูลมรณบัตร (สำนักงานกองทุนสนับสนุนการวิจัย)

 

3. การประเมินประสิทธิผล และการยอมรับของการดูแลแบบมีแบบแผนโดยทีมสหสาขาวิชาชีพ (Joint Asia Diabetes Evaluation (JADE)) เปรียบเทียบกับการดูแลแบบปกติ (DIAbetes MONitoring Database (DIAMOND) ในผู้ป่วยเบาหวานชนิดที่2 ในภูมิภาคเอเชียแปซิฟิก (มูลนิธิเบาหวานแห่งเอเชีย)

 

4. อุบัติการณ์ และปัจจัยซึ่งสัมพันธ์กับภาวะสมองเสื่อม โรคไตวายเรื้อรัง โรคระบบหัวใจและหลอดเลือด และโรคทางเมตาบอลิก ในกลุ่มผู้ใหญ่คนไทยในจังหวัดอุบลราชธานี : ข้อมูลจากการตรวจสุขภาพประจำปี และเวชระเบียน (สถาบันวิจัยระบบสาธารณสุข)

 

5. การศึกษาเพื่อประเมินความเป็นไปได้ของการตรวจ HIV และการรักษาด้วยยาต้านไวรัสโดยไม่คำนึงถึงระดับ CD4 โดยใช้กลยุทธ์ Test and Treat ในกลุ่มชายที่มีเพศสัมพันธ์กับชาย และสาวประเภทสองในประเทศไทย (การศึกษาร่วมกับสภากาชาดไทย)

 

6. ผลกระทบของกิจกรรมการปรับเปลี่ยนกิจกรรมทางกาย และการรับประทานอาหารต่อการป้องกันโรคสมองเสื่อม ไตวายเรื้อรัง โรคเบาหวาน และโรคระบบหัวใจและหลอดเลือด ในประชากรไทยทั่วไป : Cluster randomized controlled trial (สถาบันวิจัยระบบสาธารณสุข)

 

      Cardio-Metabolic Research Group was founded in 2013, with aims to conduct clinical and epidemiologic research related to treatment and prevention of cardio-metabolic diseases such as diabetic mellitus, cardiovascular disease, over-weight and obesity. The research group is a cooperation between relevant specialty physicians and epidemiologists. Besides conducting research the Cardio-Metabolic Research Group has responsibilities as a consulting unit for research projects and to support physicians and healthcare professionals to be able to conduct high quality research. Moreover, the research group, in collaboration with the Medical Education Center of Sanpasitthiprasong Hospital, holds an essential course for medical research for doctors and other health professionals throughout the year.       Research group’s expertise is in epidemiologic research and clinical research, focusing on treatment and prevention of cardio-metabolic diseases. Research projects from pass to present are as follows ;

 

1. Study of effect of obesity and overweight on the development of metabolic diseases in and adult Thai population in Ubon Ratchathani over 5 years (National Research council of Thailand)

 

2. Study of the association between obesity and overweight and all-cause and cause-specific mortality in an adult Thai population in Ubon Ratchathani : data from annual health examinations and death certificates (Thailand Research funds)

 

3. Evaluation of the effectiveness and acceptability of the Joint Asia Diabetes Evaluation (JADE) and DIAbetes MONitoring Database (DIAMOND) Programs in Type 2 Diabetic Patients in the Asia Pacific Region (Asia Diabetes Foundation)

 

4. Incidence and factors associated with dementia, chronic kidney disease, diabetes and cardiovascular and metabolic disease in an adult Thai population in Ubon Ratchathani : data from annual health examinations and medical records (Health System Research Institute)

 

5. Study to evaluate the feasibility of universal HIV testing and antiretroviral treatment regardless of CD4 count using the Test and Treat strategy among men who have sex with men and transgender women in Thailand. (Co-investigator with the Thai Red Cross Thailand)

 

6. Impact of physical activity and dietary interventions on prevention of dementia, chronic kidney disease, diabetes and cardiovascular disease in a Thai general population : cluster randomized controlled trial (Health System Research Institute)
