DR. PARINYA CHAMNAN
After graduating from the University of Cambridge, Parinya has worked as a clinician, research scientist and clinical lecturer at Sanpasitthiprasong Hospital. He is also Head of the newly established Cardio-Metabolic Research Group, Department of Social Medicine, Sanpasitthiprasong Hospital.
His main research interest is primary and secondary prevention of diabetes, and cardiometabolic diseases. His current research includes investigating pragmatic approaches to risk stratification for diabetes and cardiovascular disease in the population using data from a large health examination survey of more than 760,000 men and women in Ubon Ratchathani, and leading a large community-based cluster randomised controlled trial on the impact of physical activity and dietary interventions on prevention of dementia, diabetes, chronic kidney disease and cardiovascular disease.
